Harvard graduates invent LED "power football"

A research team formed by Harvard graduates recently designed a “powered football” that converts the kinetic energy generated during football into electrical energy and lights up small indoor LED lights. This kind of football is called "SOCCKET", and it has a pendulum inside. When the football rolls the pendulum, the swing gradually gathers energy, which is converted into electric energy and connected to a rechargeable battery.

Playing 30 minutes of football, the LED lights are inserted on "SOCCKET" for 3 hours of sustainable lighting. This football power is only 28 grams heavier than ordinary football. It was invented by the non-profit social organization "Uncharted Play".

Designers hope that this football will eventually be distributed to low-income areas, allowing local residents to enjoy a green and energy-efficient lifestyle. This football is made of sturdy waterproof vinyl foam and is very strong and can be fully adapted for football matches.

Currently, SOCCKET football is in the prototyping phase and is planned for trial use in low-income areas in North and South America. Hundreds of footballs can be made every week. Designers now have the patented technology of this football. It can be used for families who cannot guarantee the power of life, but also for teachers to teach children about energy.
