Toshiba Corporation announced that it will develop an AC/DC off-line LED controller IC using a single converter PFC*1 for LED lighting equipment. Product samples are available now and will be available in volume production in July.
The new product is an isolated flyback LED power controller designed to meet stringent design standards: support for triac dimming; high PFC with a single converter active PFC and reduced external component count; And the use of optocouplers and detectors to control the average LED current on the secondary side of the transformer. In the case of the standard 120-220V AC, the power factor value is greater than 0.8-0.9, and the LED output current accuracy is +/- 5%.
