ON Semiconductor introduced two new single-channel power MOSFETs at this year's Electronica show and seminar. The new MCH3383 P-channel MOSFET provides 12 volts (V) of drain-to-source voltage (VDSS), 3.5 amps (A) of drain current (ID), and 69 milliohms ((mΩ) of on-resistance ( RDS(ON)), while the MCH3484 N-Channel MOSFET provides 20 V VDSS, 4.5 A ID, and 330 mΩ RDS(ON). These devices are ideal for use with IC recorders and smartphones.

The NCP4545, NCP45520/21 and NCP45524/25 ecoSWITCH series for energy-efficient power domain switches are also available at the show, which are new members of the extremely compact and advanced load management solution. These devices combine control and drive functions, including soft-start with adjustable curvature control, and integrated low on-resistance power MOSFETs and charge pumps. They are ideal for notebooks/tablets, portable media devices, enterprise computing systems, hot-swappable devices, peripheral ports, telecom and industrial equipment, and a variety of portable devices.

In addition, NCP333, NCP334, NCP335, NCP336 and NCP337 are new cost-effective, extremely compact and high performance load switches. These MOSFET-based devices range from 1.2 V to 5.5 V with built-in output discharge channels to eliminate residual voltage on the input voltage rail. They are optimized for applications such as cell phones, laptops/tablets and digital cameras.

ON Semiconductor also introduced the NCP702, NCP703, and NCP729 low-dropout (LDO) linear regulators with input voltages ranging from 2.0 V to 5.5 V, providing ultra-low quiescent current and built-in thermal shutdown. The superior performance characteristics of these devices make them ideal for noise-sensitive applications that must maintain signal integrity, such as phase-locked loops (PLLs), oscillators, frequency synthesizers, and low-noise amplifiers. End products that have proven to be extremely useful include smartphones, digital cameras, tablets, portable DVD/media players, wireless headsets, WiFi boards and portable GPS systems, as well as portable medical devices.
