New test and documentation requirements for lighting fixtures in hazardous locations
Hazardous Location Lighting can be applied in the primary use or special category that can be applied.
In DLC V4.2, if the manufacturer applies for a special category (including outdoor wall mounts, plazas, floodlights, indoor high-bay mining lights, and special types of hazardous area lighting), additional File requirements. This requirement is specific when the product is applied for hazardous area lighting certification through special categories, and must provide a certificate of compliance with UL844, including the grade and classification of product certification. New lamp category
Please note that only LED lamps with caps are required for DLC LED replacement lamps. Lamps without a cap are considered a refurbished kit by DLC and are outside the scope of this discussion. In the old standard, DLC currently recognizes 0.6 m, 1.2 m LED tubes and U-tubes. In DLC V version 4.2, DLC splits the 1.2 m lamp requirements into three specific product requirements:

The product must be 48 inches long and use a G13 base. Any manufacturer's material must be declared to replace a fluorescent tube of the same length as T8. New light efficiency tolerance requirements
This policy reduces the light efficiency requirements of high-index, low-color temperature products. The conditions and light effects that need to be met are adjusted as follows:

Adjustment of hybrid LED policy
In DLC V4.2, the Multiple LED Policy was revised. The DLC accepts mixed LEDs on the same LED PCB, but the number of each LED must be fixed and cannot be dynamically controlled.
Product types that need to be upgraded:
The following products must be resubmitted before the implementation of version 4.2, otherwise the list will be removed on July 28, 2017:
1) Submit a product containing the Hazardous wording application using a special category. Manufacturers are required to apply for an updated listing and request a DLC review within three months of the release of 4.2. The application DLC does not charge a fee and is calculated according to the normal review period.
2) T5 and T5HO lamps, previously applied under the 1.2-meter LED tube category, need to be updated before July 28 to meet the new standard requirements. The DLC charges the application for a normal delivery fee, which is calculated according to the normal review period.
Transition timetable:
Before May 19, 2017, DLC can still accept the DLC V4.1 version review for the hazardous area lighting products and T5 and T5HO lamps involved, but must be upgraded to DLC V4.2 before July 28. Otherwise the column name will be removed.
For the light effect concession clause, DLC will automatically apply to products listed before April 1, 2017. If the listed product was upgraded due to the DLC standard light effect, it will be removed from the list this year, but after using the DLC 4.2 version of the concession clause to meet the current DLC lighting requirements, DLC will automatically maintain the listing. .
