College students buy online train tickets cheated nearly 2,000 yuan

As the Spring Festival approached, many college students at Putian College began to buy home train tickets online. The freshman Xiao Zhao said he was involved in a scam. The ticket was not bought, and the 1,800 yuan was all transferred.

Xiao Zhao from Henan is a pupil of Putian College freshman. On New Year's Day this year, Xiao Zhao logged on to the official website of the 12306 Ministry of Railways for ticket booking on the Internet. He helped the students purchase a train ticket from Xiamen to Kunming, and paid 132 yuan on internet banking. The next day, Xiao Zhao went to the train ticket sales office in Putian City to collect the ticket. He could swipe his ID card and was informed that he did not have ticket information.

The suspicious Xiao Zhao inquired about the Putian railway customer service electricity. The staff who answered the phone told Xiao Zhao that there was a problem in the system. They would refund the original amount and asked Xiao Zhao to operate on the nearest ATM machine. However, the staff member stressed that Xiao Zhao’s bank card must have a $1,000 guarantee fee before they can issue a refund. Therefore, Xiao Zhao, who only had 800 yuan in the card, had to retire the card. He returned to the school to find a student who borrowed 1,000 yuan, deposited his own bank card, and then went to the nearest ATM to operate the phone. After the operation was completed, the staff member stated that Xiao Zhao was using two different ATM machines before and after, and had to re-operate. This time, the security of the card must be 3,000 yuan. Xiao Zhao and his classmates realized that this may be a scam. They immediately queried the bank card and found that 1800 yuan in Cary had already been transferred.

At present, Xiao Zhao has reported the case. Police reminded to beware of online phishing websites.
