In addition, the gap in household appliances consumption between regions has gradually narrowed, and the growth rate of household appliances in the central and western regions, especially in ethnic minorities, has been significantly faster than in the eastern region.
The report shows that in 2011, every 100 households of rural households had 61.5 refrigerators, an increase of 3.1 times over the end of 2002; there were 22.6 air-conditioners, an increase of 10 times; and there were 179.7 mobile phones, an increase of 12.1 times. Driven by policies, production enterprises have increased the construction of household appliances distribution network in the rural market. At present, there are 200,000 sales outlets for home appliances to the countryside, covering all counties and townships in the country, and initially forming a rural household appliance distribution network with a degree of chain and scale.
It is understood that by the impact of the international financial crisis, exports of bulk appliances in 2009 fell by 7%. With the increasing implementation of home appliances to the countryside, the sales value of the home appliance industry started to turn negative from June 2009, and achieved an increase of 3% in 2009.
