Microsoft: Xbox One X Will Not Support VR Because PC Experience Is Better

Microsoft Xbox One X game console

Sina Technology News Beijing time on June 13 morning news, Microsoft's new game console Xbox One X will not support the current hottest virtual reality (VR) technology. Microsoft had previously hinted that the new game console will support virtual reality.

Microsoft released the Xbox One X at the 2017 E3 Game Show on Sunday, previously known as Project Scorpio. This game console brings better display results regardless of whether the user uses a 4K TV. However, this host will not provide VR functionality.

The reason that Microsoft does this is that the company believes that the PC is more suitable for supporting virtual reality technology than the game console.

Mike Nichols, head of Xbox marketing, said: "The chance of PC is greater because of the greater installed capacity of PCs. We believe that the user experience on the PC side will be better."

Microsoft's statement a year ago once led the outside world to believe that new game consoles will support virtual reality. So Microsoft's final decision was surprising. In June 2016, although Microsoft did not explicitly state which virtual reality heads the new Xbox will support, the company stated that the VR version of "Radiation 4" will land on the new Xbox.

The new console is one of the most important products of the Xbox team for years. Xbox One is popular with many players, but sales are still far behind Sony PS4. There is data showing that the ratio of sales of the two is 1 to 2. (Li Li)
