As one of the five largest regional Internet registries in the world, the Asia Pacific Internet Information Center is responsible for the allocation and management of IP addresses and related resources in the Asia Pacific region. According to statistics from the world's five regional Internet registries, as of December 2017, more than 90% of Latin American and Caribbean members have both IPv6 and IPv4 addresses, the highest in the world; in this lowest proportion of Africa, There are also about 43% of member units with both addresses.
"For the total number of IPv6 protocol addresses, what has been allocated is only a drop in the ocean, so we do not need to consider the problem of running out of IPv6 addresses, but we should consider how to use it well," said Pan Guangliang. The countries with the top five IPv6 addresses are the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Germany and France.
Pan Guangliang expects that a larger number of IP addresses will be allocated to China in the next few years. "In the future, China may have more IPv6 addresses than the United States."
