Kenya underground cable seeks 2.9 billion**

Kenya Electric Power & Lighting’s underground cable project plans to invest a total of 40 billion shillings (approximately 2.9 billion yuan). The company has already negotiated with the World Bank, the African Development Bank and the China Export-Import Bank on financing. The first phase of the project includes a 635 km long high voltage cable and a 1570 km long low voltage cable.
