Market research agency IHS iSuppli recently released a report saying that after the quad-core processor is widely used on the desktop, it will soon fully occupy the notebook, and the six-core mobile processor will gradually rise.
IHS iSuppli predicts that by 2015, global quad-core notebook shipments will reach 160 million units, which is a seven-fold increase from 21.2 million units in 2011, and the proportion in the notebook market will soar from 9% to 49%, occupying half of the country.
IHS iSuppli also believes that there will be six-core notebooks next year, and by 2015 it will quickly reach 58.9 million, accounting for 18% of the market, but neither Intel nor AMD have announced plans for six-core mobile processors.
In addition, 90% of notebook processors will integrate graphics cores after four years, and pure CPU processors will be limited to a few high-end models.
