NASDAQ Ventures recently announced that they have begun to shift their investment horizons to companies in the field of blockchain, artificial intelligence, next-generation data analysis and machine learning. The Nasdaq Ventures said that it will invest approximately US$10 million in related startups, including investment in the seed business and post-business.
This move can be considered as an expansion of Nasdaq's investment in the blockchain sector. As early as mid-2015, Nasdaq teamed up with Blockchain startup, Chain, to develop a distributed ledger market for IPO early-stage markets.

Nasdaq also tested blockchain technology elsewhere. In February 2016, Nasdaq tested an electronic voting system prototype based on blockchain technology in the Estonian stock market.
