BMW's latest company report released on May 13th showed that BMW's electric hybrid car's global sales increased significantly in April, with BMW I3, I8 and X5 XDRIVE 40E selling 2,572 vehicles in the US, and total sales in BMW in the US. The proportion of 17786 vehicles is close to 15%. As the largest electric vehicle and hybrid vehicle market in the United States, the United States has more than half of the sales of BMW electric vehicles.

BMW, Volkswagen and California-based electric vehicle infrastructure company ChargePoint, are recently installing nearly 100 public electric vehicle charging stations along major US coastal roads. This is part of the US Fast Charge Corridor program. In a press release released on Tuesday, three companies said that a total of 95 DC charging stations have been on Interstate 95 along the East Coast from Boston to Washington, DC, and along the West Coast from Portland to San Diego's Interstate 5 Highway and Route 1 installation.
The so-called Fast Charge Corridor program will be installed along the US long-distance highway, installed along the way restaurants, rest stops and shopping centers, each about 50 miles apart from each other, providing a 50KW or 24KW DC SAE 2-in-1 charging port to support BMW I3 and Volkswagen EV Golf and other electric car charging, many also support the CHAdeMO charging port, which can be used for charging electric cars such as the Nissan Leaf. The station is faster than the 240 volt 2 level charger used in public places today, allowing drivers to charge up to 80% of the battery in 20 minutes.
The lack of charging infrastructure has long been seen as a major obstacle to the popularity of electric vehicles. There are currently more than 14,300 public electric vehicle charging stations throughout the United States. The US Department of Energy and the US government have taken steps to stimulate their development. In July this year, the US Department of Energy announced a $4.5 billion loan to support the construction of electric vehicle charging stations.
