US lighting giant GE plans to form a joint venture with Chongqing's leading companies to lay out semiconductor lighting application production bases and R&D centers in Chongqing.
GE will organize a dedicated team to go to Chongqing in mid-August 2010 to determine investment plans and methods. After the joint venture was finalized, GE said it will market “Chongqing Made†LED products globally.
Chongqing plans to promote Chongqing Silian Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., Chongqing Changxing Optoelectronics Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Shalun Science and Technology Co., Ltd. to cooperate with GE in capital, brand and market channels.
