Toshiba Introduces Industry-Leading 50Mbps High Speed ​​Communication Optocoupler

Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502)'s storage and electronic components solutions company today announced the introduction of the industry-leading [1] high-speed communication optocoupler to achieve data rates of up to 50Mbps. The two new products "TLP2767" and "TLP2367" will be launched soon.

"TLP2767" is the industry's first [50] 50Mbps product, achieving 8mm creepage distance and clearance and a 0.4mm isolation layer for enhanced isolation. The product is packaged in a SO6L package to guarantee an isolation voltage of 5000Vrms (min). The "TLP2367" is available in a small 5-lead SO6 package that guarantees 5mm (minimum) creepage and clearance and 3750Vrms isolation. Both products are available in a 2.3mm (max) low profile package that meets international safety standards including UL1577 and EN60747-5-5.

The new optocoupler guarantees a transmission delay time of 20ns (maximum), pulse width distortion of 8ns (maximum) and propagation delay deviation of 10ns (maximum). These products can be used to reduce the dead time of various interfaces, including inverters, and help increase the power efficiency of the system. It incorporates Toshiba's original high-output infrared LEDs at the input, reducing the threshold input current by approximately 20% compared to Toshiba's existing products [2]. At the output, a photodetector integrated circuit (IC) fabricated in a CMOS process reduces its supply current by approximately 50% compared to Toshiba's existing products [2], helping to reduce power consumption and system cost. In addition, this series of products helps to reduce the operating voltage of the system, while ensuring a supply voltage of 2.7V-5.5V, which can work at temperatures up to 125 degrees Celsius. Applications include programmable logic controllers (PLCs), I/O interfaces, photovoltaic (PV) inverters, and FA inverters.
