From Glory 6p, to P9, to Glory V8 and Glory 8 recently released, it seems that Huawei will be equipped with dual cameras for the full range of products in the future, and its photographic effect has always been a very controversial topic. Obviously, the performance of the dual cameras on Glory 6p is not ideal, and it can be said that there is not much difference compared with a single camera. What is different from 6p, v8 and glory 8 is that one of the P9 dual cameras is a black and white sensor, “color capture color, black and white capture details, can achieve the effect of 1+1>2â€.
At the time, when P9 was released, there were a lot of evaluations out there, and how great the dual cameras were. However, after I got it, I didn't feel that the P9 had obvious advantages compared to other mobile phones. In terms of characteristics, there was only that rich tone.
HUAWEI Huawei P9 dual camera phone camera photo evaluationIn terms of imaging details, the P9's dual cameras did not show extraordinary strength. Compared with my iPhone 6p, it is sharper and higher in contrast.
After P9 shooting, there will be a delay of a few seconds. It should be post-processing automatically. Shooting architectural objects will look rather tough. However, after the automatic sharpening, the image quality will be affected. Fortunately, P9 is not too sharp.
In normal mode (non-bright, soft), P9's color temperature and saturation are also higher than the iPhone.
The focal length of P9 is equivalent to 27mm, which is wider than most mobile phone cameras.
Next is the key
The black-and-white sensor in the P9 dual camera can take a black and white photo directly instead of the post-filter processing. The black-and-white sensor only needs to record light intensity information, which can record richer details than a color sensor, and the amount of light transmitted by the dual cameras is larger than that of a common single camera. So does it mean that P9's "dual camera" will be better than "single camera" night shot? Does a large amount of light mean less noise?
So I used a black plastic card to cover the color camera, and then compared the difference between the dual camera (color + black and white) and single camera (color).
Ps: single camera - cover black and white, leaving color;
Dual cameras - no blocking, two cameras working at the same time;
Black and white mode - no blackout, only black and white work, camera mode is set to "black and white camera." (In black and white mode, only this black and white camera is working, hiding the color camera has no effect.)
Photos are taken in automatic mode and are global metering. There is no hand-shake situation using a tripod.
First group
In the first set of comparisons, the difference between the rough look of the past three photos is not obvious. The single-/dual-camera auto-detection parameters are the same, but the photo file size is a lot worse, one 1.8MB and one 2.9MB. Among the parameters of the black and white mode, only the ISO has a lower value of 2000, and the file size is 2.7 MB, which is close to the size of the dual camera.
Intercepting a small portion of the photo, you can see that the color, noise, and brightness of the single/double shots are almost the same. However, the joints and angular lines of the dual camera wall tiles will be sharper and sharper. The black-and-white mode is better than the two color photos in terms of sharpness and noise.
Black and white> Double ≥ single

Second Group
In the second group, the exif parameters of the three photos were exactly the same. The single/double camera still can't see the difference. The noise in the sky is very large. This time the two photos are the same size as 1.7MB. The black-and-white mode clearly shows more content. The noise at the sky is less and the details are much clearer. The file size is 2.6MB.
Compared with details, there is still no difference between single/double shots. The black-and-white mode is very different. In such a dark environment, the details of the house can still be presented in completeness, and the noise is significantly less.
Trees and fences that are not visible in color mode are displayed in black and white mode.
Black and white > Double single
To be honest, the results of the black-and-white version of the film really surprised me with more content, more detail, and less noise. However, the dual camera (color + black and white) and the black and white mode (black and white only) black and white head are working, and the double camera also has a color head, according to the conventional understanding of dual camera only better than a single black and white head, and then unfortunately also Flat. In actual comparison, dual photography is significantly worse than black and white. In addition, there is no obvious difference between double shots and single shots (colors), and it is entirely the rhythm of 1+1<2, or even 1+1≈1.
Is the problem in the algorithm? Can the contents of "color" and "black and white" not be perfectly synthesized? Who knows? . . .
=========================================
In fact, the P9's photo quality in the current flagship model should be considered first-class level, the color is also very lovable. Although not better than 6sp and S7 with anti-shake, it is still very good. Just before the cow blows too much , the actual film effect is not as powerful as everyone thinks.
As for the large aperture mode, these are algorithms. The aperture of the P9 is only f2.2. The blur effect and the professional lens cannot be compared, but the function is better than nothing.
In addition P9 comes with a lot of filters, it is very convenient to develop a picture friend circle
