Shandong, Sichuan, Henan, subsidies for home appliances to the countryside ended in Beijing until 2013

According to the relevant documents from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Commerce, from today, farmers in three provinces and cities in Shandong, Henan, Sichuan, and Qingdao will no longer be able to enjoy 13% of the sales price of their products when they purchase home appliances to the countryside. A four-year home appliances policy to the countryside has come to an end. According to the plan, the second and third batch of provinces and cities that implement home appliances to the countryside will expire at the end of November 2012 and November 2013 respectively. The Municipal Commission of Commerce said yesterday that the implementation of the policy on home appliances to rural areas in Beijing will last until January 31, 2013.

Starting today, Shandong Province and other three provinces and one city home appliances to the rural sales network will remove all the "home appliances to the countryside designated stores" logo, and remove all the appliances in the store to the countryside related to publicity materials, cancel the home appliances to rural areas or counters. Starting from January 6, 2012, the functional authority in the information management system for home appliances to the countryside in three provinces and one city will all stop. Although the first batch of home appliances to the countryside ended, a “buffering period” of 4 months was set to issue to consumers who had to get subsidies from the future.

Beijing officially launched home appliances to the countryside in January 2009. The policy implementation period will continue until January 31, 2013. According to the relevant person in charge of Beijing Suning, the stores in Tongzhou, Yanqing and other districts and counties have better sales of home appliances to the countryside, accounting for more than 10% of the total sales.

According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Commerce, as of October this year, the country’s home appliances to the countryside has sold 200 million units and achieved sales of 457.6 billion yuan.
