Intel kills 7nm process in 2016?

Intel kills 7nm process in 2016? As 2012 is approaching, Intel is also systematically preparing for the launch of the new 22nm process and continuing its Tick-Tock strategy. How about going further?

We have previously analyzed that Intel should launch 15nm and 11nm technologies in 2014 and 2016, but today there are media claims that Intel’s pace will be faster than we think and that it will kill in 2016. It may seem unbelievable. The 7nm entered the post-10nm era.

It is not even clear what the development code for the Intel 7nm process processor is, but it is said that a previous architecture update would be called “Pelican Lake”. This name is somewhat in conflict with the previous statement. It may seem that Intel itself has not yet finalized, and everything is still a vague initial plan. Taking all sorts of signs, the actual operation of Intel's semiconductor process R&D should currently involve 11 nm, and 7 nm may still only remain at the theoretical stage.

The 7nm process is hard to imagine what it will be like now, but as Moore's Law's limits continue to be broken, there will certainly be too many new technologies to join it. As for the actual changes brought about, the 7nm image may say that the current high-end quad-core Core i7-2600K will become Atom.
