NCP2830, a 1 watt (W) constant power filterless audio amplifier, provides continuous high-quality audio output for 8.0 ohm (Ω) bridge-tied loads (BTL). Even if the input voltage changes, the total harmonic distortion (THD) is lower than 1%. As a result, the device works longer, and when the battery is exhausted, users will not feel the volume is reduced or the audio is distorted.
The NCP2830 adopts a 20-pin QFN package with a size of only 3 mm x 3 mm x 0.5 mm, which occupies very little board space and can be used in applications with limited component height. This integrated design reduces the need for external components and helps simplify and accelerate the realization of a reliable and complete audio amplifier solution.
The NCP2830's operating power supply voltage is between 2.7 volts (V) and 5.5 V, providing a fast startup time of 200 microseconds (µS) and an excellent power supply ripple rejection ratio (PSRR) of -88 decibels (dB). The total energy efficiency is as high as 89%, and it provides a low noise performance of 100 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The optimized pulse width modulation (PWM) output section provides the NCP2830 with no filter capability, further reducing the number of external components required.
