By introducing Massive MIMO into the FDD network, Pre5G will become an important means for operators to smoothly evolve to 5G. The Pre5G TDD Massive MIMO 2.0 version of the base station supports the BBU+AAU architecture and is smaller than the first generation. In the case of dense multi-users, the demo single station rate reaches 2.1 Gbps, refreshing the industry single station peak. The 2.0 version of the base station also supports more global frequency bands and carrier aggregation (3 carriers), and ZTE expects to usher in commercial scale in 2017.

The Pre5G FDD Massive MIMO service demonstration can achieve a single cell 2.6Gbps peak rate with a spectrum efficiency improvement of 8 times. ZTE said that the FDS standard Massive MIMO channel measurement and estimation patent algorithm realizes the FDD macro channel reciprocity and greatly improves the spectrum efficiency without the need for more cooperation of mobile phones. At the same time, the self-developed vector processing chip MCS2.0 It provides powerful signal processing and processing capabilities, which provides the possibility for FDD Massive MIMO complex algorithm implementation.

Xiang Jiying said that the key technical difficulties of FDD Massive MIMO have been overcome, and some small technical problems need to be optimized. At present, the technology has taken the lead in China Unicom to complete the pre-commercial verification of the field, and at the same time carried out field verification work with China Telecom. TDD Massive MIMO has been used by more than 40 operators in 30 countries around the world. The CEO of Softbank, who was the first to use the solution, said at the GTI conference held at the same time that "the choice of TD-LTE has made us a big success" and pointed out that Massive MIMO It is an important connotation of TD-LTE evolution to 5G.

Although 5G has not yet finalized the final standard, the general direction has been determined, and the combination of high and low frequency and step-by-step commercialization is widely recognized in the industry. The 5G low-frequency base station has the highest integration in the industry, the smallest volume and the lightest weight, which provides great convenience for engineering installation. The high-frequency base station shown in this demonstration supports multiple frequency bands such as 15GHz, 28GHz, and 60GHz, and is jointly displayed with strategic partner China Mobile. The peak rate is up to 50Gbps, helping operators to deploy ahead of time in the 5G era.

Betting space division multiplexing

Utilizing the leading edge in air separation technology, ZTE has developed TDD Massive MIMO and FDD Massive MIMO, and strives to promote commercial use. Xiang Jiying believes that 5G network construction is not a one-off, operators will not wait, but constantly upgrade the existing network, let the network gradually evolve. The feature of the Pre5G is that the user can enjoy the quasi- 5G experience in advance without the need to replace the terminal, which improves the network competitiveness of the operator. For the operator, the Pre5G can be smoothed on the base station side. Upgrade to 5G will not waste investment.

ZTE has announced that it will pre-commerce 5G in the third quarter of 2018 and commercialize it in the first quarter of 2019. Being able to commercialize 5G in advance, the network deployment experience accumulated by Pre5G is an advantage. ZTE's 5G high and low frequency prototype development, joint testing with operators, and cooperation with other industry giants are jointly promoting 5G to mature. ZTE is the first manufacturer to complete the 5G technology R&D test in China.
